GONESA Nepal successfully intervened integrated Community Development Project in Rupa Rural Municipality, Kaski District from 2021 to 2025. The project focused on strengthening child rights, protection, education, health, and livelihood in close collaboration with the local government and community stakeholders.

Over the four years, 900 children were empowered with knowledge and skills on child rights and protection, while teachers, local leaders, and government officials were sensitized to create a safe and supportive environment for children. A major achievement was the development of a Child Protection Guideline, which now guides the municipality towards Child-Friendly Local Governance.

Schools were improved with digital learning facilities, drinking water and hand washing facilities to benefit 850 children and teachers. School improvement plan were updated and  teachers were equipped with skills to promote quality and inclusive education.

Furthermore, the project supported 225 small landholder farmers through goat farming, commercial tomato cultivation, and small-scale local poultry farming, helping families increase income, enhance food security, and invest more in their children’s education—creating a sustainable foundation for the wellbeing of children and families.
