Promotion of sanitation and hygiene in rural school
In Ward Number 2 of Bihadi Rural Municipality, Parbat District, Gandaki Province, the toilet cat Ambari Basic School was damaged due earthquake as a result basic sanitation and hygiene was seriously worsened , leading to various health issues. In this regards, GONESA consulted with stakeholders to promote sanitation among rural children. This situation was addressed by financial support of World Toilet Association (WTA) and Rural Municipality Office. A toilet with different facilities was constructed which has promoted basic sanitation, cleanliness and dignified life among the entire school families.
The newly constructed toilet serve to more than 300 school children, teachers, guardians, and children with disabilities. These action enhanced the dignity of children, cleanliness and a dignified educational environment, improving health, and creating an environment for equal education.
